Our Purpose
We exist to counter the growing challenges of youth disengagement, low self-esteem, and a pessimistic outlook. By intervening proactively, we provide students with hope and a clear, positive alternative to destructive behaviors.
Our Mission
Our mission is to foster a positive, proactive attitude in the next generation. We do this by focusing on three core pillars: mindset awareness, skill development, and community impact. We conduct hands-on workshops and talks to show students the power of a positive mindset and its direct link to academic and personal success.
Our History
The Positive Mindset Initiative began with a simple idea from our CDS president, Gabriel, who noticed how many students struggled without basic learning materials. He envisioned a project where corps members could support less privileged students—not just with school bags, books, and stationery, but also with mentorship and encouragement to believe in their dreams. Sharing this vision with his colleagues, the idea quickly became a team effort. Today, PMI is dedicated to changing lives and inspiring hope, one student at a time.

In Nigeria, a nation brimming with potential, a growing challenge threatens the future of its youth. Many public secondary school students, especially those from underserved communities, are grappling with a profound sense of disengagement and a pessimistic outlook on life. This can lead to a belief that success is only achievable through unethical shortcuts, culminating in dangerous behaviors like cultism, drug abuse, and other illegal activities.
A Crisis of Mindset
The underlying issue is a lack of guidance and a negative mindset that stifles ambition and undermines hard work. This results in poor academic performance and a vicious cycle of low self-esteem and lost hope. The Positive Mindset Initiative (PMI) was created to directly address this critical gap, providing a clear and positive alternative to these destructive paths.
